Nero is OK for miscellaneous burning, not a great encoder, though. I also use DVDdecrypter for image burns from DVDshrink. There's 35 burning programs listed in the 'Tools' section to the left if you want some more alternatives. I still use Nero 5.5.10.54 because I don't need all the 'extras' Nero added to the newer versions.

  4. Sorry for the newbie question but what do you mean by image burn. I want to burn a data dvd just as you burn data cd's. I tried to use Nero 6 and I got errors. Is there a special way to do this?
    Thanks

With NERO, for data files on a DVD, I just use the DVD-ROM (ISO) selection and select the files to burn.

An image file is used to burn an exact copy of the original file with all formatting preserved. The burning software will not modify it, just burn it as directed by the image file. (More or less.)
