    Here's the scoop:
    1) LG4040B Burner with old original firmware.
    2) Princo discs that only burn at 2x in EVERYTHING on my computer except....
    3) After using TMPGEnc DVD Author and using it's built in
    burning software...the Princos burn at 4x though this is supposed
    to be technically impossible since my drive does not support 4x
    burning of these Princos.

    Am I missing something here?

    P.S. - and it wasn't a coaster...the disc works fine.

    The built-in engine doesn't work (read: it's total shit). Save your project to a local folder, then burn the DVD in Nero. Much better results that way.

    Not sure where you are getting this from...
    I understood it to be a very good burning engine.

    Have to agree with Forum Troll here.....burning engine worked liked crap for me. Certainly wouldn't recommend it.
