Well it doesn't hurt to try. It will work if your DVD-ROM can read the disks correctly. Chances are it will read the disks better than your DVD player so it might help.

Skipping near the end of the disc sounds like bad media to me as well. Just remember though....they are not bad media because they are +R....they are just bad media. If they read(with no errors) and play well in your computer it may be that your standalone DVD Player does not like +R's. I would definately download DVDInfoPro and do a read test on them first....no use wasting time on them if they really do have bad data at the end.

Hey I tried the same DVD in my Computer and it seems like it was fine, I wasted $80 on these DVD's and alot of time, dam I'm pissed thanks guys.

Did you by any chance apply any sticky labels to your DVDs? Lots of people have reported skipping towards the end on DVDs that have been labeled -
The issue happens on set top players but not so much on DVD Rom drives...
Could be the explanation: labels causing the player to mis-behave.

If the movies behave in the computer, you CAN, in fact, just rip them to your hard drive again, and burn them back to better media.

I have the same problem..
I use Great Quality 4x Media..
and it skips or freezes..
but thats on movies that are 2 hrs. and over..
I have no problem with movies below 2 hrs.
if I used Ridata Ritek 4x RICOHJPNR01
then I wouldnt have no problems ????
plus I need to upgrade the firmware on the HP 300 n.. so ya think it might help?"What It Do"

Am I the only one that finds it ironic that "Great Quality" media are actually cheap crap?

Also try Intervideos DVDCopy V1 or V2... both work well at straight DVD5 copying. -
You should be able to stick the DVD+R in your DVD drive on your computer and copy the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to a directory on your hard disk. Then use your recording software to record them on to a new DVD+R. I don't beleive that you need to mess with ripping nor decrypting software. As far as your computer is concerned this is just a basic data disk.
I have never tried this so let me know if I'm nuts.Ted Rossin

I found that all my DVDs skip if I write them with Nero. If you make an ISO of the disk an burn with Alcohol it works perfectly! By the way I use DataWrite for but CD and DVD media very cheap and reliable I get DVDs for roughly the same price as CDs.
