  1. I've been burning VCD's for two years and recently purchased a DVD burner. After reading several guides on this site and a few tries I successfully converted some of my VCD's to DVD compliant files. The problem is that I can't seem to burn more than 12 minuites on a disk. I figured this out by trial and error. If I try to put even 30 minuites on a disk it won't play. I can break up a video into 12 minuite sections in TMPGnc and then make each section a chapter in Nero and the entire video will play fine, but at each chapter I get about a 4 second pregap. I've tried to make chapters with Nero, but it won't work. My stand alone DVD player recognizes that it's a DVD, but it won't play. I don't really want to use chapters if I don't need to.
I've tried to read all I can on the subject. I have done countless trials and made lot's of coasters, I've tried different media, and I looked at the specs. of my stand alone DVD player. I can't figure out what I doing wrong.

I use the new TMPGnc Express and the Newest Nero Suite. I use Nero express to burn the video.
    Please help me.

  3. DVD-R. I've tried Memorex DVD+R and Comp USA DVD-R, but no luck. They both did exactly the same thing.

run your "dvd compliant" files through mainconcept then try tmpg dvd author instead of nero

  5. Thanks, I'll give those tools a try. If I use the TMPGEnc DVD Author, shouldn't I use the TMPGEnc encoder as well? I am very willing to try Mainconcept especially for the speed I've read so much about. I just hate to spend extra money since I've already purchased the TMPGEnc encoder.
