I made a multi-session disk with mp3's.
I have 6 sessions on the disk.
I guess I am not understanding the propertys of the disk.
When I put it in my Panasonic DVD player that plays mp3's it only plays the last session.
Is there a way to navigate a multisession disk?

Hah, what a coincidence, i tried that today too - unfortunately DVD players apparently dont support multi-session MP3 disks (i dont know why, it just didnt work). If you want to play them on your DVD player, make a single session CD-R, or erase an RW and put a single session on that - when you want to add more, back it up, erase it, add it all back on + the new ones, and burn again.

Thats interesting to know, how many players have you tried your multisession mp3 disc in nx01rules.

Just mine, but I know what you are thinking, that it might not just not work on mine. But since he is having some problems similar to me, i gave those points to help get what he wants.

It may just be a quirk with your particular players, or it could be that this is a universal problem with all DVD players. It would be interesting to hear from anyone else who has encountered this problem and on what DVD player. I will make a multisession mp3 disc later and test it in the players I have and post the findings here.

I just made a multisession mp3 disc with 4 sessions, the disc is not finalized. It plays perfectly OK in both my Alba and My Akura DVD players.

Its my computer based Plextor that has me confused.
If I use Explorer it only sees the last session.
I dont see the other 4 sessions.
Also Windows Media player sees only the last session,I want to navigate the rest of the disk but either I dont know how or the Plextor cant.

Ok, when you created the last part of your multisession disk you forgot to do the one most important part of multisession.... 'Import the last session'. That would explain all your problems.
Load the disk in your burning software and start importing sessions from it, you'll probably see what I mean.
Good luck -
I am using Nero 6.
I get your point but I cant find the option to import the last session.
Are you familiar with Nero?
I also read something about a volume mounter do you know anything about that?
Brad -
I think I got it.
I went to new compilation and it gave me the option to add to disk.
So it then highlighted the last session and I just added to it.

I don't use NERO, I don't like. It's too hard for me. But I knew you would get it.
The deal with multisession is the ability to either import whats on the disk and add to it or start again as if it were a blank disk (only smaller now). To add to a multisession disk 'always' make sure you (or the program) imports the previous session.
Also, some players (not so much now days) won't play multisession disks. It's always a good practice to plan and write disks at once then close them. Expecially if you are giving them to a friend. He may have trouble reading multisession.
Good luck. -
I'm having a problem adding to a DVD-RW. I don't see the option in Nero 6.0 to import my session then add to it.
Would you be able to explain where I find this option? Thanks. I'm very new to all this and using Nero. -
So let me get this straight, If I use software like Nero ,I can make a multi session DVD just for storage , not playing MP'3 .
I find a CDr is plenty big enough for playing MP3 but I wanted DVD for storage of my date and mp3. -
This appears to be a specific problem affecting some players. I have a Sony DAV S880 and it reads multisession cd's full of mp3's just fine. All tracks are visible in the sony dvd player as they are under Windows ME/2000 and XP (but not Mandrakelinux linux for some reason).
I have not finalized the cd's.
Hope this helps. -
Just some clarification...
1) I made up some disks containing mp3's (I actually backed up my entire cd collection - phew). I did not finalise the disks.
2) I added some more files. I still did not finalise the disks.
3) Ditto
4) When I put any of these disks in a windows system it sees ALL files, from the first one added to the last.
5) When I put any of these disks in my Sony DAV880 it sees ALL files, from the first one added to the last.
6) When I put it in a Linux system it only sees the last set of files added
In short... Just because you don't see all the files in a given player doesn't mean you've made a mistake when creating the CD. 'Faceless Corporations' 1-0 'Open Source' -
