I am very unhappy with the indoor performance of my TRV38 because of the light streaks that seems to radiate from normal light sources indoors. It makes the camera video almost unusable when shooting indoors. does anybody have any suggested fixes for this problem? Please look at the below note:
I think all the Sony CCDs, particularly those used on the 19/22 (using the identical CCD), and the one used on the 33/38/39 (I think identical CCD) are HAD (=Hole Accumulation Device). Note that the "HAD" design does make for more light sensitivity, but if misused can cause a bad defect - the "Alien Spaceship Beam". This happens if there is a bright light source "shining" on the top of the CCD and shows up as a vertical blurry bar. The lightsource does NOT have to be "in the visible part of the imagery", it can be just "above" the pixels used for actual imagery and in the border pixels (used for motion compensation).
