When CompUSA had them for sale, I got the 10 pack for $9.99 and they were TYG01. I believe normal price is $24.99.

I just got SONY DVD-R recently from my friend. He bought from Staple and in 25 spindle package. The media code is SONY something not TY. The disc burnt fine and can play in PS2 and others DVD without a problem. But when I ran scan test with KProbe my computer freeze up. This also happened twice while computer scanning the disc. I'm not sure if it is related or not the scan result is better compare to Ritek G04.

SONYD4 media is fine, but it's not much better than RITEK, no. It won';t be perfect all the time, you'll walk away from each spindle with a handful of coasters. SOunds like you already found some.
