Hello,
I have a tv show on dvd from a video tape that has a loud hiss throughout the whole show. What would be the easiest way to clean it up? (I have a dvd burner so I could reprocess, I also have a tv card so I could recapture it {mpeg card}).
I was thinking of ripping the vobs to the harddrive, converting to wav and using an editor like Cakewalk pyro to clean it up. Then I would reburn it with tmpeng (after converting it back to mp2 or ac3).
If there is a simpler (less cpu intensive process, I'm running a AMD 850mhz) please let me know.

Thanks
P.S. I don't have the source video tape. (MST3K trading, non released episode)

Personally, I use Cool Edit Pro 2 to remove hiss from wavs. I think that Adobe bought that program, and calls it Audition now, I would recommend it, it's the best audio program I know of.

Yep second that Adobe Audition and there is a demo at www.wriglevideo.com on how to remove the sound of a fan that might be worth looking at.
