hey guys,
i have a LG burner 8X 4X 32X and used to burn at 8x with no problems but now for some reason, when i try to burn SVCD's with NERO it gives me the "write error" "burn process failed at 8X". My computer can easily handle the burner ( AMD athlon XP 2500, 512Ram, 256VideoC, 120GIGHD). the burner is from 2001 though, i was wondering if its time has passed or something? this seems to happen only with SVCD's though. not sure what it might be caused by. any thoughts?? and also, what do you guys think is the best brand Burner for SVCD's?
thanks a billion.

hi,
i think the problem is with your cd burner drivers.you can burn svcd's at any speed without errors, even at 52x.
try downloading the trial version of vcd easy and if that fails ,you will need to reinstall your drivers or go to the interbe=net and download the latest driver version from their website. -
hey guys,
thanks for the help, if i burn at 4X, the SVCD or any CD for that matter do work. the downside is that its 20 min to burn. what is this interbe=net? a website or something? it could be my drivers and i want to update them or replace them. i'll post to see what happens, btw, if i could continue to use nero, that would be great, i heard of vcdeasy but i'm comfortable with nero so i really don't wanna change programs. so anyway, i got no clue about this interbe=net thing, if anyone could plz explain.
thanks -
I was just joking about the way superunknown spelled "internet"
VCDEasy is a good way to go, you can have it produce a completely compliant SVCD with menus etc. and still burn with Nero.
If you're getting errors at 8x, but not at 4x, then the burner is probably getting a little worn. Either burn at 4x, or buy a new burner.Cheers, Jim
