  1. everytime I convert a DVD from an AVI file and go and play it on the DVD players..
it plays the video but not the audio
there are very few DVD players playing the audio of my DVD
I use DVD2SVCD with TMPEG ENC and Nero
and the strangest thing that I've noticed is that it's not always the same DVD player that doens't play the sound
    for instance
today I convert finding nemo and only my DVD player 3 plays the DVD
but tomorow I convert the Return of the King
and it is my DVD player number 2 to play the sound and no other
what can I do to solve this problem..what causes this problem?

I've read many guides of DVD conversion and found no answer to my problem

can anyone tell me all the software needed for a 100% compatible DVD? along with the steps needed for it?

    thank you

Rather than explain the hundreds of possible combinations , it would be better if you explain your process exactly and let us decide where you are going wrong.
Start with the AVI what it is and what audio it has.
Are you doing anything prior to encoding it , like extracting the audio to a wav file.
What are you encoding to Mpeg1 , Mpeg2
You don't mention Authoring what are you using
    Etc.
Also do your burned DVDs work on your PC.

it is on my dvd players that I have the head aches....

    what am I missing?

  4. btw.. I have some hundreds of movies and I tried with a great number of them...and always the same problem...

most of them have ac3 audio and mpeg 2 video

but it is not the video part that gives me problems
    it is the audio
I did not yet understood where the problem could be...

I've just read that guide and I don't think there is anything wrong in your method. Especially as the end result plays fine in your PC.

The only thing i'm not entirely clear on is -
for example Finding Nemo plays on player a.
Is that the only player that finding nemo will ever play in
It will never play in any other player on any attempt.

Are you always using the same media , and does the same media work on different players.

Hopefully someone will pick up on something.
    It's a strange one.

  6. for instance
    picking up 3 movies

    butterfly effect - 1
    wrong turn - 2
    jumanji - 3

    and 4 players - a / b / c / d

butterfly effect only plays in player "a" and no other
wrong turn plays on "c" and "d" and no other
    jumanji only plays in "b"

but i guess that is not the key point in this dilema
because I guess each one of the 3 has different audio format's
    what it's driving me mad
is why "after enconding" it doens't play in all 4 players
after all the burnt DVD has DVD audio.. it should be played by any DVD player

especially when the video plays fine and it is only the audio that doens't work

I've read in some forums that it exists some kind of imperfection with tmpeg audio decoder "besweet" i guess

but never quite understood what exactly is the problem and how can it be solved

firstly I was using only DVD +RW to test my DVD's but after that I started using DVD +R and DVD -R and the result was the same

obviously it is an encoding problem but it's being hard to understand it because I've around this problem for some time now and I'm getting no satisfatory result...if you or anyone here could help me solve this problem I'll apreciate

    thank you
