  1. A friend of my Dad's captured some video for me and told me he would put it in DV format, burn it to a CDR, and give it to me. I've got the disc, and I'm just now realizing that I know nothing about DV format. The file says it's .AVI. I try to open it in TMPGEnc, and it says "File "E:\Ben1.avi" can not open, or unsupported" When I just double click the file it opens and plays fine. When I right click it and check the properties I see this:

Audio Format: PCM,48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
    Video Format: 720 x 480, 5129 Frames, 29.970 Frames/Sec, 3701 KB/Sec, Unknown Format

In the preview tab I see "Video not available, cannot find 'vids:dsvd' decompressor.

What do I need to do to be able to encode this with TMPGEnc? Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me
    Ben
