I used Virtual Dub to convert an avi file(Master and Commander of Far Side.avi) to Mpg. It converted nicely halfway through the movie, then at halfway it stopped because of the following error reported by VirtualDub. How can it be fix (PowerDVD plays the whole avi movie fine) ? Thanks.![]()
Crash reason: Access Violation
Crash context:
An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'divx'...
...while decompressing video frame 128871 with "DivX Pro(tm) 5.1 Codec" [biCompression=30355844] (VideoSource.cpp:1516)...
...while running thread "Processing" (thread.cpp:105).

I've encountered this with several AVI Captures I've compressed to DivX 5.00 for archival and played back with 5.11. The work around above solved my problem. The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know. -
Hello, does anyone have any solution to the problem listed?
I have the same problem with this one file I'm trying to convert from .avi to .mpg using virtual dub and tmpenc.
I need virtual dub so I can also hardsub the file, but at a certain point, it keeps on crashing
Here's what it says:
Crash reason: Access Violation
Crash context:
An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'xvidcore'...
...while decompressing video frame 9738 with "XviD MPEG-4 Codec" [biCompression=44495658] (VideoSource.cpp:1567).
I'm really new to all this, so I'm not sure how to follow the instructions sasi posted
thanks in advance
PS: sorry for bringing up an old thread, i figured why start another.... -
If you can open the AVI in VirtualDUB, then go to the menu:
Video--> Select Range
and from there select the range from frame 1 to frame 9737 or so.
If this fails, then cut the range a bit shorter (~9735 or so).
As soon as done from that, select a new range (9740 ~ end)
If you have a crash again, then redo the selection cutting off the offending frames.
And bear in mind that this is most likely not a VirtualDUB problem. Most probably your AVI file has a corruption or the xVid codec is not the right version for the AVI file you have.
Note: Don't go around installing codecs, or you might bring your whole system to an unusable state regarding playing back video...The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know. -
Yeah, I am also having similar problem except in module ntdll, and I am using XVid codec. If anyone knows the solution please enlighten us.
