It's becoming harder to get good media. MCC, TY and MXL are harder to find on the shelves.
Buying online is not an option when the stores are outside EU due to heavy taxation.
I have come across many Verbatim data life plus spindles that are made in taiwan and i'd like to know ur opinion and experience with this media.
A month ago, i bought some TDK media made by CMC and got 2 discs with problems.
I want to know if those taiwanese verbatims are any good.

Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks
Have you noticed that a slight tax increase costs you two hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents? -
They are not as good as the singapore made ones. But the quality is still decent.
I've had issues with PS2s playing back the media when burnt at 8x with my NEC2500. Out of 500 discs, I believe I had 5 discs that had break ups on various other stand alone players. These were burnt with NEC 2500, Pioneer A05, and/or Toshiba SD-R5112 all at 4x. The "bad" discs came from all burners.
One thing I did notice about the media, is that in every 50 cake box, I'm gaurenteed at least 4 discs that are not burnable. This is from scratches, dimples or cracks on the disc. It seems to be the top 2 and bottom 2.
I'd save some money, and grab the Maxell media instead ( www.shopperwiz.com ), or if you don't need printables, get some Taiyo Yudens from www.rima.com , both places are cheaper than the average price for verbatim media. <---- Sorry for the links, just noticed you didn't need online stores in the US -
Out of 100 (used so far from latest purchase), I had 2 coasters and 1 that was too scuffed to bother burning. So 97 were perfect. MCC is still good.

i bought 30 pack then 30 more next day.. no problems what so ever. Something I noticed though was the mitisubishi symbol( logo) on the cover of these discs under verbatim. Media code ID MCC 002.

To add, one of the bad MCC's came from my 105. So it's definitely the disc there. The other could be related the BTC firmware. I get a few more than normal errors on the BTC drive burns (on any disc), but not many (and it may be IDE related on that system).Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

If you need info about stores in Portugal, just PM me. -
I used to use ONLY verbatim media until I discovered TDK media. Verbatim CDRs are some of the best money can buy, worth the money IMO. I know they are more expensive than the "no names" that CC and BB stock but you will like it. The only thing bad about them I found is that my CDmarkers wont write on their surface very well so I used the TDK. Here in pittsburgh the TDK and verbatim media are exactly the same price.
Verbatim = BIG thumbs up!A bird in the hand is worth a foot in the tush-Kelly Bundy
