Using the default setting "Bottom field first (Field B)" to convert a captured avi to a DVD complient mpg, the result was jerky motion when played on a DVD player. It played fine on the computer. The problem was fixed (I think) by changing to "Top field first (Field A)". But when I encoded using VS7 and "Frame Based Field Order A", the result was jerky, as it was when I used Frame-based, but was fixed using "Field order B". Does Ulead and TmpGenc use A to mean B and vice versa? Any ideas what is going on?
Also a quality and speed question about TmpGenc. I am encoding TV episode captured to avi (352x 480) from cable. I want to convert with VBR 3800 k/s to fit 2 hours and 20 minutes to a disk. Anyway, my results have a little snow which is cleaned very well with the included TmpGenc noise filter. But it takes 4 times as long as without the filter. Is there anyway to make this faster?
Thanks
