Hi guys just got a few svcd films that i am looking to compile onto a dvdr but tmpgenc dvd author keeps saying that the resolution is 480x576 and to use standard resolutions.
The svcd files are all mpeg-2, 480x576, 25 fps, 4:3 pal,
The software i have used so far is alcohol 120% to create a virtual drive so i can copy the mpeg-2 from the bin files then i used tmpgenc to join the 3 files of the film but when i use tmpgenc dvd author to compile this is the problem i am having.
I will keep reading the guides but any help would be great.
Cheers Robbie

DVD compliant resolutions, for PAL, are 352x288, 352x486, 704x576, and 720x576. With a SVCD source its generally best to resize down to 352x576. In doing so you want to make sure your other settings are dvd compliant as well, like gop length etc... I recommend just doing the conversion in TMPGenc. Load the PAL DVD template, then load the unlock template, and change the resolution to 352x576. That should do it.
If you want, you can ignore the compliancy warnings that TMPGenc DVD Author gives you and see if it still plays ok on your dvd player, but since the disk won't be compliant there are no guarantees.
