I have an anime film that I would like to put on a dvd, however, the film is in two parts (2 different avi files). They are both around 150mb and I would like to splice them together. I had been working with them in premiere and made it the way I wanted, but the end result was something like 2gb. The first part is encoded with DiVX 4 Fast and the second is recorded with Microsoft MPEG4 Video Codec-3. Does anyone know how I can restart this project with the right encoding and stuff so that the end file is around 300mb (should make sense, 150mb + 150mb == 300mb). Another problem is that that frame rate for both files is 20.00 fps (not an option in premiere when starting a new project). Premiere also doesn't list some of the a/v codecs i need to use. Has someone done similar and can help me?

Geez, this is ugly...

Save yourself some headache, and encode both movies separately, but tie them to play one after another through your authouring program. Just link them up..
Good luck!! -
Thanks alot. However, I want to use premiere to fix the two movies. They have some overlapping frames and I fixed it in premiere.

If you are wanting to put these two avi's on a dvd to play in a set top player then you are going to have to encode the two files to dvd compliant specs and they are going to be much larger than the original file size. Divx and mpeg4 have a greater compression than dvd mpeg.
For detailed guides on how to convert avi to dvd click this link.

If all you want to do is put the two avi on dvd to watch on your computer only then burn that avi's as a data disc.
