According to your list, they have both DTS and DD! (As I would expect)
    Regarding JAWS:
Beautiful beaches with beautiful people. The peaceful resort town of Amity, Massachusetts has always depended upon its thriving summer tourist trade to get it through the lean winter months ahead. But when a swimmer is killed by a great white shark, Sheriff Brody (Roy Scheider) faces great opposition when he proposes to close the beaches, right before the booming Fourth of July holiday weekend.

There may not be many choices left, if the shark doesn’t go away...

DTS Digital Surround play requires the use of a DTS Decoder. A Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround version of Jaws is also available.

So you have the choice anyway.

  5. Hey your right, that SPR does say it has both. I will have to look at that. If you look on play.com though for that film and say jaws dts only on playusa.com it says that the film will only work if you can decode dts.

Yes, that where I looked at.But for each DTS only DVD, you'll find a DD Format DVD counterpart (which is good for Hollywood, as they can sell both versions).

Yes, I'm really astonished (about DTS only and the greed behind that).

Maybe Mr. Spielberg needs more money (from DTS and extra sold DVDs).

BEST WAY TO CONVERT DTS TO WAV OR MP2:
you need the "DTSWAV DS Filter" from http://hypercube.is.dreaming.org
you need the "DTS / AVI Filters" from http://www.doom9.org
you need the "Cyberlink Audio Decoder" from PowerDVD 5 Deluxe
    use Hypercube Transcoder from http://hypercube.is.dreaming.org
set the frequency and the input frequency to 44100 if needed
    select "DirectShow Processing"
select "WAV Engine (single 6ch file)" or "MP2 Engine"
right-click on the "Cyberlink Audio Decoder", click on settings/properties, select 6 speaker

  14. most new dvd players will decode dts and can be had for alot less than buying a new surround receiver...then you won't have to worry what version you bought.

My player decodes DTS, but my receiver does not. I've tried playing DTS but I have no luck. Should I be able to do this?

I do believe this will only work if your DVD player has 6ch output and your Reciever has 6ch input.
They are 6 wires, each dedicated to each spkr, main(L/R) surround(L/R) sub and center.

  17. AH! I believe you are correct...since the DVD player is doing the decoding it has to convert to analog and the receiver just amplifies it. You wouldn't be able to use the digital line because then the dvd player just dumps the raw DTS data to the receiver. The receiver of course wouldn't understand it and you would either get silence or the most horrible noise you have ever heard in your life (anyone ever accidentally put a data cd in your car cd player?)...good point....

So if your DVD Player doesn't have the 6 out and your receiver doesnt have the 6 in then just go ahead and get a receiver that can do DTS!

    there! isn't that simple!
