Hi,
I recently spent a lot of time d/l all the episodes of a TV series.
So I converted them onto a DVD and then deleted the MPEGs.
The First DVD was fine, but the second DVD I made with another 7 Episodes doesn't work as I messed it up, now I need to extract the Episodes and covert each of them into MPEGs.
Thanks in advance

There's no need to mention the name of your source files. I would edit that out of your post before the warez police come after you.

Sorry about before. -
Can you describe how you feel you screwed up the disc? I think you might be better off just re-encoding the avi's.
-
well I had already made the first DVD with the 1st 7 eps and the files were in there VIDEO_TS folder, then I created another another 7 eps on DVD but the files for that went into the same folder and they must have replaced the exsisting VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO.IFO AND VIDEO_TS VOB FILE.
So when I went to watch it it couldn't get to the menu just kept hanging.
I don't have the original AVI/MPEG as I deleted them after making the DVD (stupid i know should have checked first).
Also one of the eps on the first DVD is out of synch, so if i can extract them I could fix this file as well.

Worth a shot I suppose. Try using DVD Decrypter to rip the VOB's to your hard drive in file mode. It might be best to rip them all to one VOB. Go to Tools>Settings>File Mode>File Splitting=none. Then use Womble MPEG VCR to split the VOB up into seperate episodes. Use the demultiplexer to demux the bad sync ep into seperate video and audio streams, then use the multiplexer to correct the A/V sync. Then re-author all the eps.
I have to tell you that I can't help but think that there's an easier way to do this. You might want to hold off for a while in case somebody offers a better suggestion. -
You can convert the VOBs into MPG using TMPG DVD Author
1. Open TMPG DVD Author
2. Choose Create New Project
3. Choose Add DVD Video
4. Navigate to the VIDEO_TS folder and click OK
YOU SHOULD SEE THIS
5. Click Next and be sure to put a check in "Copy clip video data to the HD" (This extracts the vob and converts to MPG)
6. You should see this

can someone please let me know if my images are showintg up. I added a subdirectoty to my ISPs webspace and I am not sure if it is accessible by anyone but me.
Thanks -
Great tip! Will it still work if the IFO and BUP's are invalid?

Well I am in the process of using TMPGenc DVD Author and it seems to be working as long as I have a VIDEO_TS file. I'm extracting one of the episodes just now.
Will update soon.
Cheers
