  1. Can anyone point me to a guide on importing VCD 's into DVD-LAB.
I have found many SVCD guides, but none on VCD. I have followed the SVCD guide to import VCD but DVD-LAB crashes due to aspect ratio error.

    Any help?

    Thanks.

PLEASE wait a couple of days before bumping a topic.

Does it crash when you import? or when?? remember that you can't mix different frame sizes or mpeg-1,mpeg-2 video in standard dvd-lab.

  4. On importing VCD (MPEG1) format file it displays usual warning about aspect ratio is incorrect (same as SVCD) but soon as you acknowledge the prompt dvd-lab crashes (using version 1.3).

    No problem with importing SVCD's.

are you importing the vcd dat file directly from a vcd? you can try use isobuster and "rip" it your hd first if you haven't tried that. isobuster guide, https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=97&howtoselect=4;14#97

  7. Play a trick on dvdlab.
Open Tmpgenc, cancel the wizard, select mpeg tools.
On the Simple remux tab, open your mpeg.
Select MPEG2 SVCD VBR from the options.
    Rename the video output.
Hit the run button and wait a few minutes.
This will change the header of the mpeg to svcd, and dvdlab should now accept the finished file without crashing.
FYI, DVDLab 1.3.1 doesn't have this problem with VCD, however version 1.3 and the beta 1.4 do, because of a .dll incompatibilty. It will be fixed in upcoming versions.

Many thanks for your help. The SVCD header trick did the job.

    Thanks again.
