  1. Is this possible, I can't seem to find a guide in the lists for this. I am currently encoding an avi with ffMpegX using the Hi-bit rate DVD preset option, but I get no sound if I preview is this because it hasn't finished or will it not encode this with sound?

  3. Sorry about that, I didn't even realise you had an ffMepgX section.

Do I encode the sound to .mp2 with ffMpeg and then using Sizzle import the sound and burn an image??

Unless your avi has some unusual video and/or audio inside it, just drop avi onto ffmpegX icon, select FastDVD preset, click encode. After many hours you should have a video_ts folder which you can burn in Toast. (Check the video_ts with dvdplayer first though).

In most casts ffmpegx will automatically deal with the sound for you.
