  1. i have a footage that is in 15fps .. needless to say playback is very choppy. I am consider using virtualdub to encode with divx and to change framerate to 29.97 or 30.

is there a virtualdub filter i can use to reduce the jerkiness of the picture?

it seems one way to remove the jerkiness is to introduce a new frame constructed by interpolation of 2 original adjacent frame. make any sense?

I get what you're saying, but I don't think there is any way to get around the jerkiness issue. I could be wrong though.

  3. I have used AviSynth to convert 15fps AVI/MJPEG from digital camera to 25fps VCD, the quality still sucks ofcourse. The ConvertFPS() function: "it will blend adjacent video frames, weighted by a blend factor proportional to the frames' relative timing ("Blend Mode"). ". I agree with teegee anyway, the jerkiness will still be there, but its the best method you will find, so give it a try.

  4. thx. convertFPS + blend mode is the stuff i want. avisynth looks like a really powerful tool I gotta learn to use it. just wish there s a equivalent function on virtualdub.
