I am using VirtualDub to try and join the files.

I open the first file in VirtualDub and get this error,

I click OK on that error then select append AVI and open the second part and get this error,

Heres the file information for the first file,

    You have two choices:
-Convert the audio to wav and then join.
-Don't join them at all. Convert seperately and then author them so that one plays after the other.

I'd go with the second, less problems.

  3. hey ZippyP., I have the same problem when i try to join two avi files....Adn you said that it is probably better to convert first and then to put on Dvd toghether....Witch is the best way to do that...

I have avi's like :movie_part1.avi, movie_part2.avi... in PAL format and i want to put them on the same dvd in NTSC format. I'm using the guide "AVI,DivX,XviD to DVD with switchable subs using DVD2SVCD" (using DVD2SVCD ) for conversion to dvd format and then "User guides - PAL / NTSC DVD Conversion (patch method)"(using IFOEdit)

Can you suggest me another ideea OR how can i use this ideea if i want to put more avi's on the same dvd....

    10x a lot!!!!

voicu_n: You need to join your files in order to use DVD2SVCD. Open the first part in Virtualdub, if you get a VBR warning then you need to decompress the audio to wav.

If you don't get a warning then under file select append avi segment and select part 2, set audio and video to direct stream copy, then save avi and give it a new name.

If you do get a VBR warning, then under audio set full processing mode, also under audio>conversion and select 48000Hz, under video set direct stream copy, then save avi and give it a different name. After doing that for both parts you can join as above.

    Good luck.
