  1. When printing onto Ritek GO4 Printables using my Epson r300 the DVD is having trouble passing through the rollers when it gets to the middle of the disk, while making a screeching noise. The only way to fix this is to help it through by pushing and pulling it when necessary. Consequently, this screws up the alignment and such. It seems as if the Riteks are too thick to enter the printer. Can anyone give me suggestions on how to solve this very annoying problem or is this a defective printer or media?

    Thanks

    HAVE THE PRINTER CHECKED.

DVD media is a standard thickness + or - a hairs breadth (someone better than I can give the spec) but the rollors on the printer have much more GIVE than that. Basically, when it goes through. it is rolling the plastic holder, not the DVD. If it is touching the dvd , somethings is very wrong.

    1) Run a printer calibrate to align trays and such

    2) Run the tray through with an old cd or dvd just to check clearance.

    If all is okay

    3) Try printing on a new disk and see if it continues. If it didn't in step 2, it should not now.

    Hope this helps.

okay, quick idea. Are the riteks sticking over the rcessed circle in the template ? If so, their thickness is way off. They should be flush. Send em back.

Are they completely flat ? Not warped ?

  5. The disk are pretty much flush with the template. Then is it the DVDs or the printer. Has anyone experienced this problem before?

    Thanks

  6. If these are Ridata white matte printables....then, no, never had any issues with them....printing on them anyway.

These Ridata printables have a balancing problem though. I can't burn them over 3.8gb. I know it's not the die, so they maybe a little warped, but I seem to be able to print to them okay on my R300. I highly doubt that it's off balance enough to make the printer jam. Have you tried playing the dvd in a player yet? How does it play at the end?

Printed roughly 20+ with no printer problems.

  7. Get in for repair or get the disk bac kto the seller who sold them. may be a bad batch. I find that all the Ritek printble no matter what brand it comes under is quite thick but not a problem. for a thinner disk try Verbatim or Goallover these are 2 quality disks and are about the thicknes of a cdr

    I use these guys

  8. Seems to me it is a problem with the printer. I print on ritek G04's no problem with my R200, cdr's are thinner than DVDR's so this could be why you have no problems printing on them. Your R300 sould be able to print on Ritek DVDR's so i would suggest you contact your supplier of the printer and get them to replace/fix it.
