  1. I can't get anything to burn with different programs with my 2500a in XP. I did have Windows 2000 Server installed and it was burning fine with it but not with xp, so it's probably not a hardware or media problem. Plus it also won't burn CD-rs so it's probably not the media. In record now max it doesn't begin burning so it doesn't mess up the disc. I looked up the error code I was getting and it said "Logical Unit Not Ready, Long Write In Progress". One thing I noticed was in 2000 Server the selectable speeds were min, mid, and max but in XP the speeds are 1x through 32x like a CD burner. I have the ASPI 4.71.2 driver installed. The burner driver is Microsoft, 7/1/2001, 5.1.2535.0. My ide driver is Microsoft, 7/1/2001, 5.1.2600.1106.

    My specs are:
    SOLTEK SL-75DRV4
    Athlon Xp 1900+
    512 mb ddr ram
    geforce 3
    Xp Pro SP1

    Any ideas?

  3. Are you using an nForce2 - based motherboard? If so, remove the nVidia IDE drivers, they suck moosebung. Use the standard MS ones instead.
