the shrinking itself won't be super quick, but burning is NO problem. i was making DVD's on my Athlon 650 a couple years back.

you do know that most dvds are dvd-9's and will require shrinking for you to be able to burn on a dvdr?

1900s are 1.6 GHz clock, but they are markedly faster than a 1.6 P4. Also that's some really fast RAM you're running for that chip. Planning on upgrading the processor to a Barton 400 anytime soon?

Neither of my SMP systems are servers, they are both workstations. And they game very well thank you very much

The 9800XT is indeed a better video card, but I built my system with higher end parts. The GFX 5600 is just a placeholder for an X800 or 6800, whichever gains greater notoriety.

Why are you using the slower machine for video? If you have to do any encoding you're going to want more processor speed. You may want to put GbE controllers in all your computers, use the faster one for ripping/encoding if needed, then send the file to the slower one for the burn process. Get a DVD-ROM drive for direct copies. Use the slower machine as a dedicated game server whenever you aren't using it for burning.

NotoriousFormula, that 1900 system you describrd is almost identicle to the one I'm running. I have no complants and any costers I've made have been my fault.
Big Government is Big Business.. just without a product and at twice the price... after all if the opposite of pro is con then wouldn’t the opposite of progress be congress?
