    OK!!!

We are finally at Valenti's point, just BUY a backup copy.

If you have to pay 13 bucks for a blank, use your own 100 + machine to copy/burn, you might just as well buy a real copy as backup.

Go to the right store, a few weeks after it comes out, it's, what, 15 bucks?

RIAA and MPAA, or whoever win. We now got backup your HDD machines. Period.

How do you think the media makers are going to feel, when they find there is only 2 or 3 % of their old market?

Jeez, some gotta lose some gotta win. Guess they win.

    Cheers,

    George

you have a point.... for now!

The price of dual-layer discs will come down substantially in the near future.... remember how much blank DVD-Rs cost when they first came out?

Maybe im wrong but i cant see the uptake of the new media being that big to start with. I am happy with my pioneer dvr105 there is nothing wrong with the backups i get either so i for one wont be getting any of that stuff soon. I think of single layer media as the same as AAC on my ipod if i wanted it to be the best copy in the world then i wouldnt compress or copy it i would just buy a few more originals. :P
