  1. Is it possible to frameserve FROM TMPGEnc to other applications, and if so, how? I know how to frameserve INTO TMPGEnc, but I cannot figure out how to frameserve from it.

    Edit: Never mind -- I just found VFAPI.

    for those who don't now how.., here's how:

    * open TMPG
    * import your .AVI source file(s)
    * make any necessary settings inside TMPG
    .
    * NOW, press Ctrl+S to save to a filename.tpr
    .
    * NOW, open VFAPI app (sometimes "VFAPIConv-EN.exe") and just drag your
    ....*.tpr file inside and press the Convert button, and you're ready to frameserve
    ....to any other app (ie, vdub, or CCE etc etc)

  3. Thanks for the reply. I had figure most of that out, but I didn't know you could drag the tpr file.

    I was trying to speed up rendering by using TMPGEnc just to to the Inverse Telecine (IVTC) function and then letting Vegas or the standalone Mainconcept encoder do the actual MPEG-2 encoding (since they are faster). However, the VFAPI frameserver is dog-slow, and the test encodes actually took longer. I am going to try again tomorrow, because I had several other renders going on, and perhaps the VFAPI frameserver was affected adversely by this more than TMPGEnc or Vegas.
