I authored my own DVD and burnt it to a DVD-R. Is there a way to rip the video (only video) to a DVD-compliant mpeg2 from that home made video DVD without losing any quality?
Thanks,
Lucas

Tell us more on what you trying to do.
The vobs file in a dvd are mpeg 2. -
CuB,... I had the same problem (or requirement) last week. I got lots of suggestions but the one that worked was very simple. Since you have a home made DVD (probably without any extras added in any chapter) you can get it back to MPEG.
Use VirtualDubMOd to select the DVD in your drive and fill in the locations of the software they need and rip your DVD to your hard drive. Once all of the video is there, just change the VOB files to .mpg files. Then you can do what you want with them.
If you have DVDdecrypter, you can use that to rip the movie."Technology",...It's what keeps us all moving forward.
