  1. Hi there,
I have one very wide movie in DivX format which I've been trying to encode to DVD with TMPGEnc Plus. The resolution of the DivX file is 560 x 240, an aspect ratio of 2.33:1. I have encoded it using 2.11:1 which is the closest I could get, but the picture still appears vertically stretched. I have tried using the crop tool but this doesn't do the job because I've set the mode to full screen, keep aspect ratio.

I guess what I need is a custom source aspect ratio setting instead of the options that are listed, where the closest is 2.11:1. Anyone know how I can solve this problem.

    Cheers.

you encode it as anamorphic (squeezed) 4:3 with some small borders top and bottom and set PAR for 16:9 and it will play back in a 16:9 wide screen with small letterboxng ....

    thats the correct way .

  3. That sounds fine, but how is this done in TMPGEnc? Is there an anamorphic setting or do I just use the 4:3 setting and then add border. If so, how do you add borders that do not cover the video image, as with the crop tool?

    Thanks in advance?
