  1. Hi , I'm having a bit of a problem with Xbox games that run in 480p. I get faint vertical lines down the whole width of the screen and I was wondering if there's a way to stop this..Games look amazing when running in 720p and there are no lines..I have 480p, 720p and 1080i and widescreen all enabled in the Xbox dashboard .I have a Pal Xbox that has just been modded (not Chipped) to output in NTSC so prog scan could be enabled (apparrantly pal Xbox's wont work in standard form) ,My tv is a Hitachi Platara 32pd5200 Plasma and I am using the HDAV cable with the sepperate component leads..I have tried switching AV channels but that was still the same problem..I have a PAL gamecube that runs fine in 480P so it can't be the TV ..Any suggestions would be appreciated. THANX

I think you are asking in the wrong place. This is a site about backing up DVD-Video software to DVD recordables, not home theatre. The X-Box's specs state only 480P, and early PAL ones were unable to output this. So a lot more information is required.

  3. As I said

"I have 480p, 720p and 1080i and widescreen all enabled in the Xbox dashboard "

    and if you go here

    http://144.92.43.200/hdg/hdg.asp?submit=ShowGames

you will see the Xbox is capable of more than 480p its just the fact that prog scan is an NTSC based format so you need to output in NTSC..

As for posting in the wrong place sorry... I did think video help
would be appropriate..so any ideas where I can get help for this ?
    Thanx...

  4. I dunno where you'd be able to get help about this. I've not seen many Xbox related posts here, but I've not seen every post.

At a push I'd say the Computer Forum but even then this site ain't really about game related issues - more video related queries.

Though I agreee that he might be better off asking at someplace like xbox-scene.com, I think after reading yourpost you've missed alot on these forums. This site is about Video plain and simple, Be it backing up your DVDs, VCD, DV, Cameras, players.....
