    I'll make it quick, because it's been discussed before: Ever since I put on Divx 4.x, any Divx file I throw at TMPGEnc brings out black video, audio is fine. I combed the forums for answers, there was discussion, but no answer. It doesn't matter if it's mpeg 1 or 2, same result. And regular AVI's turn out fine. I haven't had a chance to try it on any other machine but mine, which is running Windows XP. Remember, this only happened after I threw on Divx 4, so I'm assuming TMPGEnc just has to play catch up. No rush though

    try installing an mpeg2 codec like windvd player or elecard.
