I am converting a fil(obviously) But when the encoder is done, the file ends up an hour shorter than it originally was. Have tried 2 different encoders on this and I am kind of stumped. Anyone got an idea?

You really are going to have to give us more information here mate.
What are you encoding to ? What from (divx, xvid, div3 ?) ? What encoders are you using ? etc etc
