Here's the scenario:
Rip a DVD with MacTheRipper 1.5.6 as a whole disc (VIDEO_TS folder)
Open folder in ffmpegX
Choose DivX preset (mencoder)
Video-> Typed 640 as width and 2.35:1 for auto size
Video -> 82 Minutes -> Best
Filters -> Autocrop (30 min for Start From)
Options -> 5 Second test clip
Encode
Result: No Sound.
Here's the output. Look for the line that says "MPEG: No audio stream found -> no sound." Why?
Here's trying another way...Code:Wed May 12 20:07:47 EDT 2004 ... Read [open] audio stream: 0 audio format: ac3 (5.1) language: en aid: 128 [open] audio stream: 1 audio format: dts (5.1) language: en aid: 129 [open] audio stream: 2 audio format: ac3 (stereo) language: en aid: 130 ... ==> Found audio stream: 137 ==> Found audio stream: 128 ==> Found audio stream: 130 ... MPEG: No audio stream found -> no sound. ...
Open folder in ffmpegX
Choose fast DivX preset
Video -> 640, click 1.85:1
Video -> 82 Minutes, click Best
Encode
And I get the following...
Is it because it's not a program stream? If I open the VIDEO_TS folder in VLC there's sound.Code:Encoding started on Wed May 12 20:13:42 EDT 2004 /Volumes/External/DVD Zips/ZHEATS/VIDEO_TS: Unknown format
thanks!

Your audio streams seem oddly numbered. Try to change track in the audio tab, and use "Play" to check when you hear sound.Originally Posted by leaded

I'm having the same problem. I'm using a VIDEO_TS file, courtesy of Mac the Ripper.
Codec = MPEG4 (mencoder)
Video = Bitrrate 940 kbit/s
Audio = .MP3
Options = High Quality, 5 sec test clip
When I load the VIDEO_TS folder, the program doesn't recognise the video/audio qualities in the same way it does with .VOB files (i.e. the information that pops up above the "Open..." bar).
The stream I got was...

Maybe you are playing a non-interleaved stream/file or the codec failed?
For AVI files, try to force non-interleaved mode with the -ni option.

Please help! I get the feeling that this is an ace program, but I can't get it to work properly + am currently having to make do with some truly dreadful encoding software...
