    Hi all,

    Not sure if youcan help but I have a DVD player at home. Kids played with it and now the tray is open does not want to close.

    Would you know where I can find info regarding what is the mechanism used to open/closed tray in general?

    I'd like to try to fix it by myself but don't want to damage the lens.

    I'm thinking you need a screwdriver, and not much else. Are you at all mechanically inclined? If the mechanism is fixable, then it should be pretty clear what came loose in there. The lens assembly is really obvious and is actually pretty sturdy as long as you don't jab it with a screwdriver or something.

    The thing is the DVD player is part of a TV combo that cannot be opened and accessed easily. So if I knew in advance what I'm looking for it could help me repair it....
