I want to see if anybody is having the same problem I'm having. I love this player but I find the picture a little dark. I pushed the system menu button. Under "video setup" I started playing with the "smart picture" settings. I chose "personal settings" and upped the brightness from 08 to 10. Looked good to me so I kept the setting.
However the next time I played a widescreen dvd on my 4/3 television, I noticed a little black line on near the bottom of my screen. After a little trial and error, I traced the problem back to the brightness settings i had changed. On a brightness level of 8 the line disappears - back to 10 it reappears. The "bright" setting under Smart picture also shows this line. This only happens on widescreen DVDs - NTSC, as far as I can tell. I'm using the latest firmware with the player.
Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks
Karl
