  1. Hi,

I have a Denon DVD-700 which I obtained a region free fix for. I followed all the instructions that the person sent me.

Sadly now the DVD player does not play any discs whatever region. The screen on the player is now blank all the time.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I have tried to contact the person who I brought the region hack off, but funnily enough they have not replied.

I think it is necessary to do some sort of master reset of the player or restore factory settings, but I am not sure how to do this.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

i'm also gonna buy me a denon dvd-700. and the only way i know to make it region-free is to insert a firmware-upgrade cd. i got the cd, but i'm waiting for my player (2 to 3 weeks) with the silver front.

    did you find anything ??

    got the same problem.

    bought the firmwareupgrade via ebay

    it told me
to type in via rc "9","8","7","6","Search mode"
    then insert firmware upgrade
then after reading, erasing and writing the tray opens and i have to unplug the player
and when i plug it in again it should be region-free

the only thing that happened was that dvd-player is not working.
    the 9876searchmode thing still works.
maybe someone has a working firmware upgrade and can send me the boot-image.

  5. It sounds like you had exactly the same firmware upgrade as me (from 'Jo'?). The symptoms that my DVD player had are the same.

My DVD player is currently at the denon service station and they are having to reprogram/replace the eprom. Denon recomend that you get the region free upgrade from a Denon outlet themselves. If you ring the denon service number for your contry they will recomend one.

It is not possible to reset the machine.

  7. Yes that is the person that I got the 'upgrade' from.

I didn't their e-mail from ebay, but a DVD site. So I have e-mailed them. They might take the link down, I don't know.

I would give seller feedback on the person to say that it is a lot of junk.
