  1. Hello! I just bought the LG DN898 from buy.com and I was trying to get it to be Region-free.
I tried to to what was listed in https://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks?dvdplayer=lg+dn898
twice, once by burning the the .ISO in Nero, and the other time by just burning the folders
from the other .zip file onto a CD-R.
Both times, when I put the CD-R into the DVD drive, it gave me the "! Check disc" message.
I really wanna be able to play my movies, so I hope someone maybe has another answer...
I hope someone can help me with this!

Thank you so much for reading, and in advance for any help you may be able to provide! c:

Did you burn as "Disc at Once" (NOT as "Track at once") and "No multisession"? Those will give you the best chance of success. If you are not using Nero Burning ROM where you can set that stuff yourself but instead using their simple GUI interface then I have no idea what settings it defaults to but they are likely bad.

Do note that others have reported this not working so even if you burn a disc according to my instructions there is some chance that the manufacturer has changed the hardware since this hack worked and it no longer works because of the changes. Good luck.

  3. Well, I did try it with "Disc at Once", not Track at Once, in Roxio, and also made sure that the "allow more than one recordings" option was not selected, but it didn't work. :c
I'm really sad the hack didn't work for me... I guess they must have changed it.. ;.; Guess I have to keep on copying my own movies in order to watch them on a DVD player. :/
Thank you so much for your help in any case!
Region codes are the stupidest thing in the world though xDDDDD
