  1. When I play some burnt DVD-Rs, the PS2 seems to play it fine, but at certain points it seems to crash and freeze. Nothing works, the controller or the remote, and can only be solved by restarting the PS2. Does anyone else have the same problem? Is there anyway of sorting it out?

    Thanks

Might be media, might be your backing up method, or the most likely possibility...its just the PS2. Its not a very good DVD player really. Try them out on a real standalone player, see how they look on it. I bet they'll play better, and most likely not freeze up.

  3. Ahh, thanks, but I have no money for a standalone DVD player T_T It can't be the media or the encoding because it plays fine on the PC.
If you think you have it... but you don't.

Thats the PS2 then. All I can tell you is either...deal with the glitchy playback of the PS2, watch it on your PC, or save up and grab a cheaper DVD player like an Apex or something. It won't cost you over $50 and it'll probably play almost everything you toss at it. If you watch a lot of movies, or own a lot of DVD's it is worth it to have a standalone player.

  6. The Media is DVD-R (Minus), I'm planning to get a DivX player actually after I read about them. But I need some money first ^^
