  1. Hi there everyone. I have recently tried to back up one of my son's cartoon movies and when I frameserve using dvd2avi it won't process out to a wav. file. I've tried diffrent settings still get nothing. I've tried downloading diffrent versions of dvd2avi. I used the latest version of dvddyrcrpter to rip. I've tried ripping the whole dvd including special features and still nothing. If anyone could help me that would be greatly appreciated. I wanted to see if I could fix the problem on my own. Doesn't seem like I can do that so I thought I would come to the pro's and give a shot. Thankz

  2. Sometimes DVD2AVI will only export an mpa file -- but that shouldn't be any problem if your converting with TMPGEnc because TMPGEnc will take an .mpa as audio input. If you must have a wav file then just convert the mpa file to WAV ... I know dbpoweramp will do it (dbpoweramp.com) and WinAmp DiskWriter output will also -- probably a bunch of programs will convert mpa files.

  4. dvd2avi for some reason will only put out a d2v file and no audio at all for this specific movie. I'm thinking there may be some kind of block or something that won't allow the audio to rip or something I have no Idea I think I'm just chaulk this one up as a loss.

  6. Knowing what you have is a pretty good first step, so you need to find the specs. ok

Run DVD Decrypter. It will find the dvd movie and is a one click rip (unless you have changed the default settings). Rip the movie to HDD.

Open a few of the ripped VOB files with AVICodeC. The program will show if the files contain audio and what format/compression it is. If you don't have the proper codec installed then it can help you download what is needed by clicking the "WEB" button next to the audio information line. (if there are more than one audio stream you can open the drop down list box for audio and view all available)

If the vobs contain audio then you can assume they ripped properly. If not...... I don't know I've never had that problem... yet ...

    Good luck.

if you are still having problems you might try using dvd2svcd. it is bundled software that automates the making of (s)vcd. Easy to use.
