Hey
I been trying to get all these files I got on DVD forever and been through various programs, not really having succees with any of them. I like what HT Burn DVD looks like it's doing for me, but it always freezes during pre-burn encoding. I burned one with INtervideo WINDVD, did everything right, imported the files and dragged to the timeline, but on the dvd all it is the first clip, 2nd clip, 3rd one, then you can hear the audio of 1 more clip while a still of the final frame of the 3rd one remains then it resends itself to the beginning or menu. I had like 130 clips in there and seperated it into chapters (i.e, say i had 8 Kobe files, the first Kobe file was chapter 1 then there was the next 7, then where the VC ones start was its own chapter and so forth) but liek I said, it just skipped all of that? I have Roxio Easy DVD/CD too which came with my new burner and have Nero. I just wanted to know which programs you guys have had the most success with as far as burning .wmv, .avi, .mpg and if i could, .mov files to a dvd with that is reliable, hopefully fast but now that I got it on my computer, i could leave it on overnight if necessary. ALso, what is the program that converts files? i know of Stoik but there was one exactly like Stoik that let you batch convert many files at once. I have about 2 gigs of bball files i am trying to burn so I can watch them anywhere in the house. If anyone can help me, please do. You can also AIM me at bigdawgdl if you'd like. I don't need any fancy menu options of anything special like that, I just want to be able to get them all on the disc and watch them in my dvd player

Without trying to be rude, whatever happened to trying out different programs before asking questions? Make your own judgements. Every answer is going to be different. What matters is what you like.

For ease of use and ease of learning I would recommend TMPGenc Plus to encode your files to Mpeg2 , It will handle all the file types you have.
And TMPGenc DVD Author to create menus chapters and author the DVD , it also includes a burner but I favour Nero personally.
Both programmes have a 30 day fully functional trial . And there are plenty of good guides for them on this site. -

I've had good luck burning with RecordNow. For authoring I use PowerProducer Gold and TMPGEnc DVD Author.
Don't really know if that answers your question since I have trouble reading paragraphs that run on and on with no breaks. -

Bigdawgdl it might be a good idea to click edit on the top right of your post and split it up a bit. It would help.
