  1. Hello

I know everything has a flaw but I just want to ask if what burning software has the least minimal probability of getting burn errors regardless of the cd writer's competence?

i got some mpg files (encoded by tmpgc) that always got stuck in the burning process (i'm using the latest Nero version). Some files are successfully burned but some are not.

    thank you

Stick with Nero. Your problem could be too little system resources available, poor media, bad mpegs or even the drive itself. Are you just burning them as data or are you converting an avi to mpeg or something like that?

This contradicts your first post where you said that sometimes they don't burn successfully. Which one is it?

Author with VCDEasy first, then use Nero (if VCDEasy wont burn on your system) to burn the CD image VCDEasy creates.

Good advice. If that doesn't work either I think you should focus on other factors besides the burning software to troubleshoot your problem.

  9. your right.

i mean, most of my converted avi files (into mpgs) are recorded just perfectly as vcds. i am thinking...

    it's my witer
    it's my burning software
it's my avi file that has 23 fps (which is okay according to gspot)
it's my converted mpg file (via latest version of tmpgc)
--- my conversion of the file is ntsc vcd (film) with 23.97 fps
--- i should try converting it with 29.97 fps, perhaps?

when i tried vcd easy, i openened 2 of those mpg files that are giving me trouble. but an error showed up and said that it's not recognized. I tried some other mpg file but this time, it recognized it and burned it successfully as vcd. it's just weird.

    anyway,
i really thank you guys for giving the attention.

Maybe you can fix the bad mpegs with mpeg repair.

When you're able to burn it without Nero taking a dump.

  13. which is better anyway?

converting a avi file into a 23.97 fps mpg file or into 29.97 fps mpg file?

You're making a VCD, right? Some players don't handle 23.976fps well but I would try that first. You'll probably get a non-compliance error in Nero when you try to burn it but you can opt to burn anyway, or simply uncheck "Create standard compliant CD".

  15. it's a success. i managed to burned them

first i made sure that half of the space of my drive is free (where I put mpg files)

then encode the avi files to 23.97 fps mpg then put it there

then i checked with mpeg repair and they were alright

i burned them with Nero, had my fingers crossed then boom
    it was success

thank you for all of the help and suggestions
    i really appreciated it
I hope I really did it and not just by a fluke
