  1. what are tv safe zones?
    what do they control?
how can I change an exported Adobe Premiere project (avi) to fit these zones (without expensive software, if possible)?

    Hi drewzasl,

I'd say you need to install a DV codec. Apparently, the Panasonic DV Codec works well with VirtualDub and is free. There are others - apparently Canopus DV Codec is good (and also free). Then there's the Mainconcept DV Codec, also considered good, but that costs.

    Hope that helps...

Strange, because the four letter code for a DV codec is "dvsd" - as appears in the error message you provided.

When you say "that didn't work" - what did you try that didn't work? Use AVICodec to list the codecs that you have installed.

If they do appear to be isntalled, then there's a different problem that is beyond my experience and knowledge.

If it were me, I'd uninstall and reinstall the DV codec(s).

    Good luck...
