does anyone know if you can place this format on a dvdr and play them on one of the new dvd/xvid/divx players? i know they will play on cdr fine.. i guess its possible that if it is possible it may only work on some..anyone have any luck with this? TIA

Just to make sure my question is clear.. i do not want to convert it to dvd format.. i want to have a bunch of xvid/divx movies on a dvdr

Yes there are players that can play DVD's with divx/xvid movies on them. I've read that some mpeg-4 capable players on play them on CD though. Try before you buy.

  4. Well you can do a search on dvd players that will play divx/xvid on dvd-r, but i can tell you for certain that my PHILIPS 737 does this. Only thing is sometinmes xvid has some sync problems, dunno if that is a problem with the files or the player though...
