I am in the process of buying a DVD Recorder with hard drive so I can compile camcorder footage from numerous vhs videos and then burn them onto one DVD. What I want to know is if I create this DVD with menu's titles, etc, how do I go about copying it if I want more than one? I didnt want to leave the stuff on the recorders hard drive once the DVD was burnt, so how do i copy a DVD like this? I know you can't put it into a DVD player then record it on another blank DVD like you can with VHS as it would only play to the menu's and stop. Would I have to use a PC based burner and software to copy it? Any help much appreciated.

Can't you simply make as many copies as you need at the time you make the first copy?

Yes, PC/Mac based is best for editing, authoring and burning (IMO).

Its that I only need one to start with, but if after a few months I need another I obviously don't want to have to re-compile it all on the DVD recorders hard drive again. So the way to do this to get a DVD Burner for my PC, any software that you would recommend?

Most any burning software will let you copy unprotected (ie. home-made) DVDs. Try Nero or CloneDVD.
