  1. I want to convert a 30 minute 4:3 format programme from a DVD source to a DivX file. I'm a newb but have already had a bash with ffmpegx and I ended up with a 450mb file which was bigger than I expected.

Would I be able to get the size down so I could fit 2 programmes on a cd? The settings below the ones I used to get the 450mb file ended up giving me an unrecommended bitrate.

I'd be greatful for any tips, thanks.

  2. What is the actual pixel resolution> If you shrink the image size you probably can get it down to an acceptable size. 2 30 min. programs should fit easily onto cds withthe right size DivZ file.

  4. Thanks pixeljammedia, galactica. I just noticed the new tutorial shortly after posting this subject, I should look harder I guess.

The res is 688x560 btw. I'll give Handbrake a go it looks straightforward enough.

    Cheers.
