Just wondering if anyone knows when we can expect iTunes in the UK? I downloaded it from www.uk.apple.com thinking that I would finally be able to buy the tracks I like without going to the crappy HMV here in Bath. Once it's all installed, it THEN tells me I can't use the damned thing!
So, I searched on www.google.co.uk, but got a load of crap and no official info from Apple. Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks,
Cobra

The app itslef doesnt work?
The only thing that shouldn't work is the ability to actually download songs since it requires a US mailing address for credit card verification. -
Exactly. The application seems to be fully functional, I can even listen to previews but I can't buy anything.

Ask one of our american friends nicely
(TGPO will do it, he's the Mac whore) -
I imagine soon they will open it to the "world" market
At the moment you have to have a credit card to purchase an item. That said it requires verificiation of the credit card address.
I have a friend in Fiji and he told me it has to be a US address aparently. Lucky for him he use to live in NY City and has an american credit card with a US address.
I would personally go to Apple iTunes Support Discussion Page and ask them when they plan to offer this or if its avaliable though a 3rd party some how. They have apple employees who answer from time to time. -
galactica,
Thanks for the link. I should have thought to look for a forum.
I did, however, search the forum, yielding the following results:
The thread on the Apple forum...
...and the resulting news article detailing legal troubles.
It does say that they hope to get it going within the first half of 2004. Apple time.
Thanks very much,

does http://www.listen.com/ [Rhapsody] work in UK?
I have no idea since I use iTunes Music Store.. but from what I understand its very similar. -
I don't know - it's almost half one in the morning so I'll check it out properly tomorrow (this?) morning. I gave it a quick once-over and it looks fairly unrestrictive - I like that, it's only fair that I get to use my music that I bought where and how I like!
Thanks for the link,

I agree! Hopefully apple will offer international support for iTunes soon!
-
They'll also make themselves a solid fortune as a by-product...
I for one will register with iTunes as soon as it is launched - if the price is right, that is. If it's 99c for a tune, then it should be about 60-70p here. 60p is fair enough I think, 70p is pushing it a bit.
Anyway, I am definitely looking forward to Apple laying waste to the crummy Bath HMV. They'll happily rip me off £20 for a DVD and £16 for an album.

Apple laying wasteCorned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons. -

Thanks for the link anyway,
