Can someone confirm the fact that the Ritek GO4 4x media can burn at 8x speed in some 8x dvd-burner with hacked firmware?
I read about the Pioneer 107 with the hacked fw 1.1 that can do such.
Thanks

Since when? I use G04 RITEK DVD-R which only burns @4x. The only one I know of is the IMATION (RICOH) DVD+R 4x that can be burned @8x on the Plextor 708A. There is no firmware that I know of that can burn RITEK G04 @8x speed.Plextor px708 burns these at 8x. No hacked firmware -
Who's on 1st, whats on 2nd.. I don't know's on 3rd.
The G04 needs to be spelled out a bit more clearly as in ...-R or +R. -
The Ritek G04 is -r 4x media. No one mention the Pioneer 107 that can do this at 8x with fw 1.1 like I d posted. Is this true?Originally Posted by jaxxboss

Pioneer 107D with >NIL:'s patched firware version 1.10 and the newest patched firmware 1.13 can both definitely burn Ritek G04 DVD-R 4X media at 8X with no problem.
Any 4X media can be burned with >NIL:'s firmware at 8X. However, the quality may vary. Ritek G04 does very well. Now starting with the 1.13 patched firmware, any 4X DVD+R media can also be burned at 8X speed as well. That's pretty sweet thanks to >NIL:

ok with the a07 or 107 with the hacked firmware you can burn g04 from Ritek and TDK 2x disk too up to 8X, and he memorex 4X too but memorex is not a first class media continue using it at 4X no prob. TDK,Ritek burns well. but for the memorex 4x to 8x some equipment cannot handle this process of burning at least the ones that not saying that can handle DVD-+R\RW media

I updated my Pioneer 107 to the latest firmware from Pioneer's site which if I recall was 1.13.
Now is it possible to use Nil's firmware 1.13 and be able to burn Ritek G04 printables at 8X?
Please enlightenWinXP SP1, Epson R200 and Pioneer A107 -
Yes, you can go from 1.13 official fw to 1.13 patched fw with no problem. Just go flashman's web site and download the following zip file. It has everything you need.
The file to download:
DVR-107Dv1.13-RPC-1+12xRip+nx4all_DVRFlash.zip
The place to download it from:

thanks falberni for the info. It seems to me that the Pioneer 107 is probably the best burner to buy since there are so much support for it from the community.Originally Posted by falberni

I patched my Pioneer 107 with Nil's 1.13 fw. I burned an iso image and watch the write speed and it only goes 6x even though in the drop down speed of dvddecrypter I chose 8x. I am using the Ritek G04 white inkjet printable dvd's bought from supermediastore...
I have not burning using Nero, which I usually use when I burn the VIDEO_TS folder of my backup DVD's.
Does it make a difference if it is an iso image....
Thanks for any enlightenmentWinXP SP1, Epson R200 and Pioneer A107
