    I have some laserdiscs I want to transfer to DVD-R but I want the best results possible. Is S-Video OUT > S-Video IN the way to go? I noticed the component outputs in a LD/DVD/CD combo player are for DVD playback only. Thanks!

    Laserdisc is composite video in it's encoding. You may want to try some tests between S Video and Composite and see which one looks better.
