avi file would not open with virdub mp3 freeze got message "couldn't locate decompressor for format dx50". downloaded k lite codec pack full version but only installed divx pro ver 5.1.1. decoding.
tried to load file again with mp3 freeze and it opened. Ran "check video for freezes" and then when i opened bad frames to check, ALL frames were said to be bad.
what am i doing wrong and how can i successfully check the video for bad frames.
I use Gary's AVI to SVCD 3-step foolproof guide to convert my files to svcd.

I predict you're in for a bumpy ride. If for no other reason than having a corrupted file. Those are a bitch to convert. Try running the thing through DivFix and see what it reports, and whether it is able to fix it. Then check the fixed avi with Vdub again. Maybe things will be different. Good luck.
