    Hi, guys:
I want to author a DVD with a menu. I declared my menu.PSD as a "still menu with subpicture". ReelDVD created a subpicture and a button track.
I then imported my *.m2v and *.ac3 files and created links.
A warning was given during a preview, for every video asset, that it has fewer subpicture streams than other assets (that is, my menu).
I then added a subpicture stream to each and the warning disappeared.
However, when I started the disc creation process, I got the following msg:
"Error: Subpicture stream 1 in "Video Track "xxxx.m2v"" does not have data. Please check the track in Track Editor.
Error: DVD Video files could not be created"
This looks like conflicting messages - one way I get a warning to the effect that I have to create sp stream, but after I add it, it says "no data in sp stream".
Short of abandoning a menu altogether, is there a way out of this?
    Thx: walter

Here is a reply from Dennis O'Neil of crazyPants.com: (slightly edited to remove intro + bkg info which is irrelevant to this case)
    Dennis O'Neil:
[...]You almost solved the problem, but you should place an empty file in the subpicture track of your video.
You made the number of subpicture tracks equal, but you can't have an empty one in your storyboard (stream with no files).
Create an empty PSD and import it into the track, and your error message will disappear. (by "empty PSD", I mean a transparent, no graphics, PSD)
As for the first message, about the unequal number of SP streams, you could theoretically ignore it. I rarely add that empty sp file, and I've never had a playback issue with any set-top players. Good luck. Hope this helps. Dennis O'Neil CrazyPants Productions [| http://www.crazypants.com |]
